We urge the Texas Legislature remove the word ‘firearms’ from Texas Code Emergency Management section 418.019, and we also urge the governor to immediately inform all governing authorities from municipalities to counties and all other jurisdictions that the sale of firearms and ammunition is an essential business for the health and security of our citizens and may not be halted or infringed during emergencies or any other time.
