Texas House standing committees should advance the conservative grassroots agenda, not that of special interests and lobbyists. The chairman and a majority of members of key committees should support the conservative agenda. Specifically, we call for a pro-life Public Health Committee, a pro-Constitutional-Carry and pro-police Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee, and a pro-traditional values State Affairs Committee. The Public and Higher Education Committees should spend more time advancing conservative reforms and less time pandering to superintendents, vendors, and university administrators.The republican-controlled Texas legislature should end the practice of awarding committee chairmanships to democrats.
