NEW PLANK expanding the concepts of Plank 152 and 153:
The Republican Party of Texas opposes the use of Automated License Plate Readers (ALPRs) and similar persistent surveillance tools by any government entity or law enforcement agency without a specific, time-limited judicial warrant. We oppose the storage, purchase, or use of data gathered from private surveillance networks, including HOA-managed camera systems, by any government body; and that we call for a total ban on the sale of captured location or surveillance data by any entity operating within the State of Texas. We reaffirm our opposition to red-light cameras and all forms of automated traffic enforcement as violations of due process and the right to privacy.
